The The är en brittisk musikgrupp som har existerat sedan sent 1970-tal i olika former, Matt Johnson är den ende konstante medlemmen i bandet.

With his first album for 25 years released on the day of this gig, Matt Johnson toured the new songs with the current incarnation of The The. Five guys dressed in black with black stage drapes in the black hole that is Nottingham Rock City did not make for great photography. The set was unconventional - the first half being the entire album that none of us had heard, followed by a second set of "greatest hits" including Infected, Armageddon Days Are Here Again, Uncertain Smile, Heartland, This Is the Day and Sweet Bird of Truth.
Sadly the front of house sound was so appalling that I have no idea what the new material is about or even if its any good - it was one loud distorted bass-heavy mess. A disappointing comeback for an innovative & interesting artist.
