Stinkmussling (Phyllotopsis nidulans) är en svampart[11] som först beskrevs av Christiaan Hendrik Persoon, och fick sitt nu gällande namn av Rolf Singer 1936. Enligt Catalogue of Life[12][13] ingår Stinkmussling i släktet Phyllotopsis, och familjen Tricholomataceae,[12][13] men enligt Dyntaxa[14] är tillhörigheten istället släktet Phyllotopsis, och familjen mattsvampar.[14] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[14] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[12]

Location: Beaver County, Western Pennsylvania

Notes: Medium size clustered shelf mushroom. The upper surface is very hairy and orangish-tan. The margin is darker than the center and is rolled under. The tan gills converge to the center of a very broad attachment. The flesh is whitish and doesn’t bruise easily. There is no strong odor.
The lack of a strong odor and no bruisability caused some doubt about the identification. What do others think?
