The soldier-actors toured the expedi-tion areas, and some ofthe productions werepresented in Paris. Someof the welfare organiza-tions contributed profes-sional entertainers to di-visional theatricaltroupes, but most of theperformers were soldiers. Several divisionsstaged circuses. Somewere given out-of-doors,but a few had tents, side-shows and all the thrill-ers of a real circus. Com-petitive horse showswere held by each divi-sion, the culminationcoming at the ThirdArmys three-day horseand automobile show atCoblenz, Germany, in which the Thirty-third Division took second place.
