Roadracing-VM 1993
Världsmästerskapen i Roadracing 1993 arrangerades av Internationella motorcykelförbundet och innehöll klasserna 500GP, 250GP och 125GP i Grand Prix-serien samt Superbike, Endurance och Sidvagn. VM-titlar delades ut till bästa förare och till bästa konstruktör. Grand Prix-serien kördes över 14 deltävlingar.

500 GP
Säsongen 1993 blev en klassisk säsong. Wayne Rainey och Kevin Schwantz slogs om titeln och tog fyra segrar var, men titelracet fick ett abrupt slut när Rainey vurpade på Misano-banan och förlamades från ryggen och nedåt. Det var ett tragiskt slut på en lång och framgångsrik karriär. Schwantz kunde därefter ta hem sin enda VM-titel.

Tetsuya Harada från Japan blev mästare i den näst största Grand Prix-klassen. Segern vanns med endast fyra poäng, tack vare att Harada vann sista deltävlingen i Valencia samtidigt som VM-ledaren Capirossi slutade femma.

Tysken Dirk Raudies blev mästare i 125GP, men japanen Kazuto Sakata pressade honom hela säsongen och till slut var det trots nio segrar för Raudies mot två för Sakata nästan helt jämnt i mästerskapet.

The Flag of Europe is the flag and emblem of the European Union (EU) and Council of Europe (CoE). It consists of a circle of 12 golden (yellow) stars on a blue background. It was created in 1955 by the CoE and adopted by the EU, then the European Communities, in the 1980s.
The CoE and EU are distinct in membership and nature. The CoE is a 47-member international organisation dealing with human rights and rule of law, while the EU is a quasi-federal union of 27 states focused on economic integration and political cooperation. Today, the flag is mostly associated with the latter.
It was the intention of the CoE that the flag should come to represent Europe as a whole, and since its adoption the membership of the CoE covers nearly the entire continent. This is why the EU adopted the same flag. The flag has been used to represent Europe in sporting events and as a pro-democracy banner outside the Union.
