Pritzkerpriset
Pritzkerpriset, The Pritzker Architecture Prize, är ett internationellt arkitekturpris som årligen delas ut av den amerikanska Hyattstiftelsen till en samtida arkitekt.
Pritzkerpriset, som skall främja god arkitektur och innovativa lösningar, är uppkallat efter entreprenören Jay Pritzker. Det har delats ut sedan 1979 och anses som en motsvarighet till Nobelpriset inom arkitektur.

Impressionné par l'expédition de Bonaparte en Egypte, la Prusse, à son tour, s'intéressa de plus en plus à la civilisation égyptienne. Le roi de Prusse fit l'acquisition de plusieurs collections privées.
Karl Richard Lepsius organisa une expédition en Egypte entre 1842 et 1845 et rapporta 1500 objets à Berlin, cadeaux de Mehmet-Ali. La collection initiale prit alors une envergure telle que le Roi Frédéric Guillaume IV confia à l'architecte Stüler, un élève de F. Schinkel, la construction en 1850 d'un "Nouveau Musée", Neues Museum, destiné à accueillir les différentes collections.
Le "nouveau musée", fermé en 1939, a subi de gros dommages à la suite des bombardements de Berlin en 1944 et sa réouverture n'a été effective qu'en octobre 2009 à l'issue d'une longue restauration conduite par l'architecte anglais David Chipperfield.
Les péripéties de la seconde guerre mondiale et de la guerre froide ont conduit à un partage de la collection égyptienne. Une partie des collections égyptiennes (comprenant les objets des fouilles d'Amarna) a été présentée durant plusieurs années à l'ouest dans le musée égyptien près du château de Charlottenburg. La Russie, qui a rendu à l'Allemagne, les collections égyptiennes emportées pendant la guerre, a néanmoins gardé sur son sol une importante partie des objets pré ou protohistoriques, dont des parties du Trésor de Priam.
Le hall d'entrée du musée était orné en 1900 de fresques représentant les différentes étapes de l'histoire du monde de Wilh em von Kaulbach. En haut de l'escalier, se trouvait une copie du porche des Cariatides de l'Acropole d'Athènes.

Yvonne Farrell, together with Shelley McNamara, is a founder of Grafton Architects – their office, which opened in Dublin in 1977. They are Fellows of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and International Honorary Fellows of the RIBA. They achieved international fame with the design and construction of the spectacular new building for Bocconi University in Milan, completed in 2008. Their practice began with experimenting with a sophisticated take on European modernism moving toward high-profile public buildings (the Solstice Art Center, Navan 2006; the Office of Public Works, Dublin 2008). They have received many awards for their work (Building of the Year 2008, for the new Bocconi University Building), as well as the Leone d’Argento at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012. Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara are Professors in the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio and Adjunct Professors in University College Dublin. They have been Visiting Professors in Yale and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Current work includes IMT University, Paris/ Saclay; New City Library, Dublin and the recently inaugurated UTEC University Campus in Lima, Peru.

Le bâtiment principal est desservi par une rampe extérieure en pente douce. Elle permet au public d'accéder à la terrasse et durant le Voyage à Nantes, de voir des installations d'artistes.
