Plestiodon inexpectatus ingår i släktet Plestiodon och familjen skinkar.[3][4] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[3]
Arten förekommer i östra USA.

- Not US federal goverment; not public domain. multichill (talk) 16:16, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
DeleteSouth Florida Watershed Management District is the source of the image, it appears to be part of the Florida state government, not the federal government. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:35, 1 February 2009 (UTC)- Indeed. That part seems to have been an error of mine. However, the Internet Archive shows that the source site stated in February 2004 and also in June 2004 that visitors were "free to copy/download" the photos, and furthermore "All we ask is that you credit the South Florida Water Management District as the source for images you use on your site or in a publication." I uploaded the image in April 2004, which is in this timespan. Hence keep but but re-tag as . Lupo 10:51, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- BTW, they still said so in June 2007, shortly before their photo library disappeared in August 2007. It appears that even in June 2007, they were still offering this image (#0798) on their list of hi-res images. The internet archive has it here. Lupo 11:12, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
