Panamerikanska spelen 1975 hölls i Mexico City, Mexiko under perioden 12- 26 oktober 1975, 20 år efter att man arrangerat 1955 års spel. Det var tredje raka större sportevenemanget i Mexico City på sju år, efter olympiska sommarspelen 1968 och världsmästerskapet i fotboll 1970.
Val av värdort
Santiago de Chile, Chile utsågs ursprungligen till värdort. Ekonomiska problem och politiska oroligheter tvingade dock arrangörerna att saga upp värdskapet. São Paulo, Brasilien tilldelades då spelen, men tvingades dra sig tillbaka den 17 oktober 1974 på grund av ekonomiska problem och en hjärnhinneinflammationsepdiemi. Den 19 oktober 1974 tilldelades Mexico City värdskapet. PASO-medlemmarna blev imponerade av organisationen, då man hade kort tid på sig. Så imponerade att man valde Mario Vázquez Raña, president för Mexikos olympiska kommitté, som PASO-president på mötet i Mexico City.

Den Dominikanska republikens flagga består av ett vitt centrerat kors som sträcker sig hela vägen ut till flaggans kant. The original symbolism, however, was "Hardships there are, but the land is green, and the sun shineth", where BLACK represented the hardships being faced.
