Nir (persiska: شهرستان نير , Shahrestan-e Nir) är en shahrestan, delprovins, i Iran.[2] Den ligger i provinsen Ardabil, i den nordvästra delen av landet, 400 km nordväst om huvudstaden Teheran.

Delprovinsen hade 20 864 invånare 2016.[1]

Medelhavsklimat råder i trakten.[3] Årsmedeltemperaturen i trakten är 12 °C. Den varmaste månaden är juli, då medeltemperaturen är 25 °C, och den kallaste är februari, med −2 °C.[4] Genomsnittlig årsnederbörd är 575 millimeter. Den regnigaste månaden är november, med i genomsnitt 95 mm nederbörd, och den torraste är september, med 13 mm nederbörd.[5]

The tricolor flag was introduced in 1906, but after the Islamic Revolution of 1979 the Arabic words 'Allahu akbar' ('God is great'), written in the Kufic script of the Qur'an and repeated 22 times, were added to the red and green strips where they border the white central strip and in the middle is the emblem of Iran (which is a stylized Persian alphabet of the Arabic word Allah ("God")).
