Leukotrien
Leukotriener är metaboliter av arakidonsyra som bildas genom enzymatisk katabolism under inverkan av enzymet 5-lipoxygenas. Leukotriener har en metabolisk roll. Kemiskt sett är det fetter som består av 20 kolatomer.
Leukotriener frisätts, bland annat, av mastceller som en del i en inflammatorisk process och de har leukocyter som målcell.[1]
