L. lobificans was growing on rotten wood on the trunk of a large Prunus serotina Ehrh. and among a vine and roots of Toxicodendron radicans (L.) Kuntze along the NE Branch of the Anacostia River Bike Trail and next to the Airport fence in College Park, Prince George's County, Maryland, USA (38o58.800' N, 76o55.193' W)
