Lürssen är ett varv i Bremen som grundades 1875.
Allmänt
Varvet blivit känt för sin tillverkning av militära snabbåtar och lyxyachter, såsom Paul Allens Octopus och Larry Ellisons Rising Sun. Förutom i Bremen har man verksamheter i Rendsburg, Bardenfleth och Wilhelmshaven.

A German Motor Torpedo Boat (Schnellboot) underway at speed prior to 1939. It appears to be one of the series S 6 to S 25, built 1932-39. This might be a builder's photo because of the lack of a naval pennant number on the bow and what appears to be a house flag at the foretopmast head.

Fast attack craft "Dommel" of "5. SG" (means fast patrol boat squadron 5). The Type 140 Jaguar class were the first new invented vessels of the West German Navy after WW II. They were an evolution of the german torpedo boats (E boats) of World War II. Sa'ar 1 to 3 classes ("Cherbourg") were missile boats built in Cherbourg, France at the Amiot Shipyard based on Israeli Navy modification of the German Navy's Jaguar class fast attack craft. , Elster and Dommel are boats from these squadron.
