Biografi
Scheff växte upp i Vallejo i Kalifornien.
Han medverkar på Elvis Presleys RCA-album som till exempel Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite (Elvis' live-sända TV-konsert 1973), Elvis in Person at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, On Stage, That's the Way It Is, i dokumentärfilmen Elvis – That's the Way It Is (1970), Elvis as Recorded at Madison Square Garden, i dokumentärfilmen Elvis On Tour (1972), From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee and Moody Blue, bland många andra.
På senare år arbetade Scheff med Willy DeVille, Bob Dylan, John Denver, Elvis Costello, The Doors, Sam Phillips, Richard Thompson, och många andra artister.[1] Scheff var också basist för Southern Pacific på deras debutalbum. Han medverkade 1987 i den på kabel-TV sända konserten Roy Orbison and Friends, A Black and White Night.
Scheff författade 2012 sin musikaliska självbiografi med titeln Way Down: Playing Bass with Elvis, Dylan, the Doors, and More: The Autobiography of Jerry Scheff.[1]
