Hongkong deltog första gången i olympiska sommarspelen 1952, då som en brittisk koloni. Hongkong har deltagit i alla sommarspel sedan dess, med undantag för spelen 1980 då de bojkottade spelen. Hongkong har deltagit i alla vinterspel sedan 2002.
Hongkongs nationella kommitté (NOK) startades 1950.
