Hipgnosis
Hipgnosis (av hip "inne", "cool" och gnosis "kunskap") var en brittisk designfirma grundad år 1968 av Storm Thorgerson och Aubrey Powell. Hipgnosis gjorde otaliga skivomslag till rockband på 70- och 80-talen.
Några av designgruppens mer kända omslag är till Led Zeppelins In Through the Out Door, Pink Floyds Wish You Were Here, The Alan Parsons Projects Pyramid, Genesis The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, 10cc:s Deceptive Bends och många andra.
Storm Thorgerson och Aubrey Powell tror att det en gång var Syd Barrett från det tidiga Pink Floyd, som hade klottrat "Hip Gnosis" på designfirmans nymålade dörr, någon klarhet i detta fick de aldrig, men de antog i alla fall namnet men utan mellanslag.
Hipgnosis har numera upphört med verksamheten.
