Tävlingsform
Tävlingen skedde i form av en turnering med utslagning. Vinnarna av varje kamp kvalificerade sig för nästa omgång och så vidare tills två finalister mötte varandra i en final för att utse en guld- och silvermedaljör. Alla tävlande som förlorade mot någon av finalisterna i något skede av tävlingen kvalificerade sig för återkvalet. Förlorarna i semifinalerna mötte sedan vinnarna av återkvalen i varsin bronsmatch. Vinnaren av dessa två matcher tog därefter varsin bronsmedalj.

The official ISIRI standard (translation at FotW) gives two slightly different methods of construction for the flag: a compass-and-straightedge construction used for File:Flag of Iran (official).svg, and a "simplified" construction sheet with rational numbers used for this file.
