A Supermarine Walrus amphibian airplane being launched from the catapult deck of HMS BERMUDA. The aircraft has just left the catapult.
IWM caption : The interior of a 6 inch triple Mark XXIII mounting on board HMS JAMAICA. Note the crew wearing anti flash gear. From this angle you can see the centre and right 6 inch Mark XXIII guns of the three contained within this turret. The crew member in the foreground has over his shoulder a 30 pound cordite propellant charge. Note a further charge is emerging from the cordite hoist in the floor. It is still in its protective case.
The Royal Navy cruiser HMS Bermuda (C52) underway. Bermuda was taking part in operation "Limejug II", an anti-submarine exercise with U.S. Navy Task Group 83.3 with the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CVS-9), and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
