Friidrotten vid de olympiska sommarspelen 1928 i Amsterdam bestod av 27 grenar och hölls mellan 29 juli och 5 augusti 1928 på Amsterdams Olympiastadion. Detta var första gången som det fanns friidrottsgrenar för damer på det olympiska programmet. Antalet deltagare var 706 tävlande från 40 länder.
