Tävlingsformat och regler
Grenen genomförs som en utslagsturnering där vinnaren går vidare till nästa omgång. Lottningen i lätt flugvikt kommer innehålla 26 boxare och inleds med sextondelsfinaler den 31 juli 2012. Vinnarna i semifinalerna möts i en match om guldet, förlorarna får varsin bronsmedalj. Alla matcher avgörs över tre treminutersronder. Vinnaren är den boxare som efter ronderna tagit flest poäng. Poäng erhålls genom lyckade slag mot motståndarens huvud eller överkropp. En match kan också vinnas på knock-out likväl som att domaren kan besluta att avbryta matchen.
