Provinsen Esfahan, alternativt Isfahan, (persiska: استان اصفهان, Ostan-e Esfahan) ligger i centrala Iran på en bördig slätt. Den hade 5 120 850 invånare vid folkräkningen 2016,[2] på en yta av 107 017 km².[1] Många av provinsens städer och byar har anlagts längs Zayandehflodens en gång rika strömmar. Staden Esfahan är provinsens huvudstad och administrativa huvudort. Kashan, Khomeynishahr, Najafabad, Shahinshahr, Shahreza, Golpayegan, Ardestan, Natanz och Nain är några av provinsens andra viktiga städer.[3]
Klimat
Vädret är måttligt och torrt i provinsen. I området kring huvudorten Esfahan ses tydliga skiftningar mellan de fyra årstiderna.[3]
Administrativ indelning
Provinsen Esfahan var vid folkräkningen 2016 indelad i 23 delprovinser (shahrestan),[2] i sin tur indelade på ytterligare administrativa nivåer.

Flag of Iran. The tricolor flag was introduced in 1906, but after the Islamic Revolution of 1979 the Arabic words 'Allahu akbar' ('God is great'), written in the Kufic script of the Qur'an and repeated 22 times, were added to the red and green strips where they border the white central strip and in the middle is the emblem of Iran (which is a stylized Persian alphabet of the Arabic word Allah ("God")).
The official ISIRI standard (translation at FotW) gives two slightly different methods of construction for the flag: a compass-and-straightedge construction used for File:Flag of Iran (official).svg, and a "simplified" construction sheet with rational numbers used for this file.
