This specimen of Chrysothrix candelaris was growing on a rock cliff on the old Alberton Road in the Patapsco Valley State Park in Hollofield, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA.

Was named as Chrysothrix candelaris (L.) J.R. Laundon 1981 on Sycamore bark, Eglinton Country Park, Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland. But misidentified, correct identity is Trentepohlia sp. (green alga with orange pigment, Chlorophyta, order Trentepohliales)

Egg case in a lichen-encrusted crack in a Pittosporum tree in Auckland, New Zealand. I believe the egg case is from the South African mantis Miomantis caffra. The lichen is probably Chrysothrix candelaris.[1]
