Calyptella är ett släkte av svampar. Enligt Catalogue of Life[1] ingår Calyptella i familjen Marasmiaceae, ordningen Agaricales, klassen Agaricomycetes, divisionen basidiesvampar och riket svampar,[1] men enligt Dyntaxa[2] är tillhörigheten istället familjen Chromocyphellaceae, ordningen Agaricales, klassen Agaricomycetes, divisionen basidiesvampar och riket svampar.[2]

not the most impressive fungus, and neither is this particular specimen; these white bells are only 2-4 mm each. however, it's an interesting organism because it looks like an ascomycete while in reality it belongs to the Marasmiaceae family.

Calyptella longipes. Well.....these made my day. Part of an enormous group spread approx. 2.5m to 3m along a recently fallen tree [ wasn't there 12 months ago] in Barron Gorge National Park, Queensland, Australia. Previously I had only found a small group back in 2013.
