Beeston High Road. The reason why Beeston High Road is such a pleasant place to shop compared with say Long Eaton High Street (18922)is obvious. It is full of trees! Most, if not all, are London Plane. For some inexplicable reason six have, since my last visit, been brutally pollarded at about five feet above ground. Three of these are visible here. To what end I wonder? as can be seen from the tree in the middle distance, they were well formed and not creating a "nuisance" If they are now allowed to the recover, the new growth will be just at head-level.
