On the east side of U.S. Route 219 in the Town of Ashford, New York is found Ashford Hollow Cemetery, as seen on an afternoon in November 2021. A typical and fairly well-preserved rural graveyard that contains the remains of some of the area's earliest white settlers, Ashford Hollow Cemetery appears to have been established in the late 1830s and was in active use through the 1880s, though it saw a smattering of later burials up through the mid-20th century. Among those interred here are a pair of local Revolutionary War veterans.
