"Sea mouse" (Aphrodita aculeata) An Annelid marine worm not often seen, it lives mostly buried in the sand, often under deep water. This one, about 15 cm long, was stranded by a high Spring tide on Portmahomack beach. The irridescent spines on its sides have attracted some interest; see link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/1099278.stm
