Ananasfibrer bereds i Filippinerna.

Ananasfibrer är fibrer som erhålls ur bladen på olika arter ur familjen ananasväxter (Bromeliaceae). Fibrerna är cirka 150 centimeter långa och vita eller blekgula med hög draghållfasthet. De utnyttjas som ersättning för jute, sisal och manilla.

Weaving and embroidery demonstration at the “Piña-Seda: Pineapple and Silk Cloths from the Philippines” exhibition.

Held on the sidelines of the Assemblies of WIPO Member States, which met from September 30 to October 9, 2019, the exhibition showcased pineapple-plant fiber and silk cloths from the Philippines. WIPO co-organized the event with the Government of the Philippines.
