Agape
Agápe (αγάπη) är ett grekiskt ord som betyder kärlek. Agape används i både modern och klassisk grekiska, och förekommer även i Nya Testamentets grundtext i Bibeln.
I klassisk grekiska innebär agape att älska människor oförbehållsamt, eller kärlek till eller från Gud. I grekiskan finns flera ord för kärlek, med olika innebörder men endast agape och filia (φιλία) (ungefär broderlig, vänskaplig kärlek) återfinns i Nya Testamentet.[1]
Utöver dessa två återfinns eros (έρως) (latin amor), som ofta rör begär eller åtrå, och storge (στοργή) som nästan uteslutande berör relationerna inom familjen. Till skillnad från ordet eros har ordet agape ingen sexuell underton.
I Nya Testamentet och den kristna traditionen står agape också för Guds kärlek till människor, och hur människor ska älska Gud och varandra.
Den latinska motsvarigheten är caritas: den oegennyttiga kärleken uttryckt i handling. Flera kristna församlingar utan samfundstillhörighet har antagit namnet Agape.

Peaches.—The following is the best plan for preserv-ing peaches in cans:— Take the peaches, either just ripe or fully ripe—thisdoes not matter; pare them, and if you desire to pre-serve them whole, throw them into cold water as theyare pared, to prevent them from losing color. Wheneverything is ready, place them in the can, adding merelyas much sugar to each layer as is sufficient to renderthem palatable ; set the can in a vessel containing hotwater, and allow it to remain in boiling water until thefruit becomes heated through ; this will require, if aquart can be used, from twenty minutes to half an hour.The temperature required is about 160° F. A very littleexperience will enable any one to know the proper tem-perature. It is not possible to heat the contents of thecan in this way above a temperature of 180°, unless thecover is fastened down, which is not necessary ; but itis evident that it is desirabl
