Yacht Octopus moored at Canary Wharf, London - 22 July 2012
"Octopus" was, back in 2003, the World's largest privately owned yacht ... at 416 feet (127 metres) long. She belongs to Paul Allen - co-founder of Microsoft and a modern day philanthropist. Rumour has it that Octopus has a permanent crew of 60, including several former Navy Seals. Apparently she has two helicopters, seven boats, a 10 man submarine and a remote controlled vehicle for crawling on the Ocean floor. The submarine has the capacity to sleep eight for up to two weeks underwater.
