This herbariuim specimen of Trapelia involuta was growing on a small, flat, sandstone rock along the trail up Black Mountain, just S of Tunk Lake, NE of Ellsworth in Hancock County, Maine, USA (Lat. 44o35' N, Long. 68o06' W, elevation 200 meters).
