Rhizocarpon subgeminatum was collected from a rock at "Bear Rocks" in the northern end of the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area of the Monongahela National Forest, Tucker County, West Virginia, USA.
Collected and identified by E.C. Uebel (No. U-19, 19 May 2001).
