IWM caption : Vertical aerial view of RAF Hendon, Middlesex. Numerous aircraft can be seen dispersed around the airfield perimeter. At this time, No. 24 Squadron RAF, No. 116 Squadron RAF, No. 1416 (Reconnaissance) Flight and No. 1 Camouflage Unit were all based at Hendon. Note the attempts to camouflage the airfield and runways in a variety of schemes.
