Beskrivning:
The Old McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock (1857). It was built to resemble the building that, at the time, served as Cook County Courthouse. It held government offices from 1857 to the 1970s when a new courthouse was built. Today it hosts the Dick Tracy Museum; the creator of Dick Tracy lived in Woodstock. McHenry County was founded in 1836, split off from Cook and [www.flickr.com/photos/teemu08/8745757340 LaSalle] Counties. It was named for Maj. William McHenry, a noted soldier who died a few months earlier. He served in the Northwest Indian War, Tecumseh's War and the Black Hawk War.
