Built as an F-14A-85-GR but updated to F-14D(R) standard in the early 1990’s. On 4th January 1989, while operating with VF-32 and carrying out a Combat Air Patrol (CAP) from the USS John F.Kennedy (CV-67), she shot down a Libyan Air Force MiG-23 using an AIM-7 Sparrow missile. Transferred to the Smithsonian Institute in 2003, she wears the markings of VF-31, her final operator, and is seen on display in the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center as part of the National Air and Space Museum. Washington Dulles International Airport, Chantilly, Virginia
