The surface of Equisetum hyemale in Japan. Soak and/or boil in water then dried one to use as traditional polishing material like sandpaper. Microscopic view of Equisetum hyemale with 2-1-0-1-2 is one millimeter step, with 1/20th graduation. Equisetum hyemale is approx. 4.5 millimeter outer diameter. Small white dots are accumulated silicic acid.
