The Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, monument to Titian. Titian had wished to be buried in the Basilica of the Frari. He was buried at the monument dedicated to him on August 27, 1576. The monument is made of Carrara marble, At the center of the monument: the statue crowned with laurels Titian is accompanied by the allegories of universal nature, the spirit of knowledge. The statues are the work of Pietro Zandomeneghi, Canova disciples. The monument was restored in 1996.
