Statistics of the citizenship of refugees in Sweden over time, between 1980 and 2018, for the most common original countries of citizenship. Stacked area plot showing the number of residence permits granted per year. For the period 2015-2014, decisions after the third instance are presented, including granted permits according to the Geneva Convention, to warlords, to de facto refugees, for protection needs, for humanitarian reasons, to quota refugees, according to temporary law, with time-limited and previously time-limited permits and with impediments to enforcement. For the period 2015-2018, only the decision in the first instance is presented, including granted refugees and Dublin. For the period 1980-1989, the values are averaged. The most common citizenships totally during history are shown in the bottom.
