Civil flag of Spain with alternate colour scheme, brighter red and yellow. This flag represents the civil flag of Spain. It also represents the historical flag of Francoist Spain from 1936 to 1938, which was proclaimed on 29 August 1936, the "Junta de Defensa Nacional", in Decree No. 77, stating: "The red and gold/yellow bicolour flag is re-established as the flag of Spain".
