Picture taken during a 2013 Arctic study trip to the island of Spitsbergen, Svalbard archipelago, Norway. The trip was sponsored by the University Centre in Svalbard and the Institute for Global Maritime Studies.

(Note that the metadata time stamp for the picture is set for the United States' East Coast Time, which means a six-hour difference to the actual time in Svalbard.)
