Motor oil filter cutaway image (Bosch P3029) - one quarter is cutted away from filter casing. Oil enters the paper from the outside of paper and leaves from the centre of filter cartridge. Some of the filter paper is also removed, so the paper support frame is visible. There are two rows of (4 mm diameter) oil flow holes in the high end of the frame (not visible). At the top of filter cartridge is oil bypass-valve.
