Dual Citizenship
Citizenship Law Dataset from the Global Citizenship Observatory. Countries are considered to allow multiple citizenship without restriction if the dataset shows "n.a.", without a note about loss of citizenship in certain cases, or with a note saying that proof of renunciation is not required, in all of the following items:
- A06b: renunciation condition for residence-based acquisition of citizenship
- L05: loss of citizenship due to acquisition of foreign citizenship
- L06: loss of citizenship acquired by birth due to retention of foreign citizenship
- L10: loss of citizenship acquired not by birth due to retention of foreign citizenship
Sources for countries that changed their nationality laws after the dataset was compiled:
- Brazil: Constitution (article 12)
- Germany: Nationality Act
Sources for countries not included in the dataset:
- Andorra: Qualified law of nationality
- Maldives: Citizenship Act
- Monaco: Law relating to nationality
- San Marino: Law on citizenship
- Vatican City: Law on citizenship, residence and access
