The foam/froth which hides the nymphal form of the froghopper, (Spittle bug, or spit bug). The froth serves a number of purposes. It hides the nymph from the view of predators and parasites, it insulates against heat and cold, thus providing thermal control and also moisture control. Observed near Beaupre falls at the Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Park. This is the first provincial park to be jointly managed by a First Nation and BC Parks.
