The S.S. Christopher Columbus was a whaleback excursion liner designed by Alexander McDougall and built in 1892-1893 in Superior, Wisconsin by American Steel Barge Company for service to ferry passengers to and from the World's Columbian Exposition, and later placed in general and excursion service to various ports around the Great Lakes.
- This image of a pass (entitling the holder to ride free) uses the Sprague painting and is from 1897 when she was in general excursion service.
