Brown Drake Mayfly (Ephemera simulans) on a Yellow Rubber Rabbitbrush Seedskadee NWR (14847301213)

Brown Drake mayflys are actually a pretty rare sighting on Seedskadee NWR. They are here, just not in large numbers. This newly emerged adult is drying on a rubber rabbitbrush and the background of bright yellow makes the mayfly standout. There are a number of smaller mayfly species that are found here in large numbers.
