In the 1960's the big motors were used for stayer races at Manchester's Fallowfield velodrome. Note the small front wheel and reversed front forks.
In this case the rider being paced is from the Croad Automatics team - despite the Mercier-Hutchinson team shorts. If my memory is correct then the rider is Jim Moore and he's right up on the roller!
Apologies for the quality but the 35mm negative was not very good to start with and 40+ years of domestic storage have not helped ..
