Ambrose McConnell, one of the Chicago Americans' infielders, played with independent teams and in minor leagues all the way from Rutland, Vt., to Beloit, Wisconsin, and back, till in 1907 he batted .320 for Providence, of the Eastern League. At the close of that year the Boston Americans purchased his services, and in 1908 and 1909 he was their regular second baseman. The White Sox got him in trade from Boston during the season of 1910.
