Edible nest swiftlet Aerodramus fuciphagus They are difficult to identify, the only visible feature here is that the tail is notched. The rump is a paler grey but I was unable to get a good dorsal shot. This was found near a 4 storey building with no windows, only air inlets and a large entrance on the top floor. It was a purpose built aviary to attract these swiflets to nest, giving the owners a regular supply of edible birds nests - this practice is termed ranching .
