A North American A3J-1 Vigilante bomber conducting carrier trials aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CVA-59) between 31 October and 8 November 1960. This plane appears to be BuNo 146697, the 4th production Vigilante, which had been used for initial carrier suitability tests aboard USS Saratoga (CVA-60) the previous July, and is now preserved at NAS Patuxent River (Maryland, USA).
