Yellow. The first generation Cougar was built from 1967-70 and was built on the Mustang platform, (Later built on the Torino platform, then Tbird platform). It was 3 inches longer and more luxurious than the Mustang. 1970 saw a new front end which featured a pronounced center hood extension and electric shaver grille similar to the 1967 and 1968 Cougars. Available was the base Cougar, luxury XR7 (which got woodgrain dash and steering wheel.) and the performance Cougar Eliminator. The Eliminator was introduced in 1969, it got a blacked out grille, side stripes, front and rear spoilers, Ram Air hood and tuned suspension
