A map of Eastern Ukraine where an ongoing armed conflict between the Ukrainian government and insurgents of the DPR and LPR takes place. It shows the areas under immediate control of both sides.
 
Current territory held by insurgents.
 
Territory previously controlled by insurgents but retaken by Ukrainian government forces.
 
Territory with major uncertainties regarding their status / fog of war
 
Settlements or city areas where there are full scale battles currently (or currently unknown status)
 
settlements or city areas controlled by the government (and there are no full scale battles here)
 
settlements or city areas controlled by insurgents (and there are no full scale battles here)


Note: only full scale battles are considered. If a city is under the government control, but there are a some small groups of insurgent guerilla, the city marked as "blue", not "orange". The same thing with settlements controlled by insurgents.

Derived from Marktaff SVG map. All city names translated to Russian in separate layer, also fixed some missing names near Slavyansk. Added captions to Airports. District borders width was decreased to 1 px to improve readability. Decreased overall count of nodes in water and oblasts layers (optimization, smoothness).
